How fractional general counsel works
Jason serves as Fractional General Counsel to approximately 30 to 35 food manufacturers, ingredient suppliers, importers, distributors, co-packers, private-label brands, and dietary-supplement companies throughout the United States. Collectively, these businesses generate more than $650 million in annual revenue and employ approximately 450 people.
The role is to integrate legal judgment into the daily decision-making of the business — helping management teams anticipate problems, manage risk, negotiate critical commercial relationships, and keep products moving through the supply chain. Over his career he has managed more than 550 trademark applications and currently oversees approximately 350 active trademark registrations, conducted 21 product recalls for food-industry clients working directly with FDA personnel, and drafted and negotiated more than 1,200 co-packing, private-label, supplier, manufacturing, and distribution agreements.
He has reviewed more than 1,000 food labels and marketing pieces. To date, none of those client labels has become the subject of FDA enforcement action or food-labeling litigation, per the firm’s bio.
